2. BADA Sand
3. Bok Soon Do Ga – Rice wine
If you’re looking for a special souvenir from Busan, I highly recommend Boksundoga Makgeolli which is Korean Rice Wine.
Unlike mass-produced rice wines, Boksundoga uses traditional brewing methods and high-quality ingredients. The fermentation process is carefully controlled to produce a consistent, high-quality beverage.
It’s a fantastic way to experience a piece of Korean culture and tradition. Korean Gen Z also loves Boksundoga for its light and soft flavor, making it a trendy choice among young adults.
Here’s the detailed information to help your choice :
- Meaning: The name “Boksundoga” (복순도가, 福順都家) combines “Bok-sun” from the name of the co-founder, Mrs. Park Bok-sun, “Do” meaning city, and “Ga” meaning house, symbolizing a family tradition of home-brewed alcohol.
- Where to Buy: You can find Boksundoga Makgeolli right inside the Busan Station. While alcohol is typically available at any convenience store, supermarket, or department store, Boksundoga is a special brand that’s only available at select locations. I recommend stopping by the stores in Busan Station where you can even have some trial sips before you decide to buy.
- Alcohol Content: Boksundoga Makgeolli has an alcohol content of around 6-7%, making it a light yet flavorful drink.
- Taste: This makgeolli is known for its smooth and slightly sweet flavor, with a pleasant fizzy texture that comes from natural fermentation. It’s less sour compared to other traditional makgeolli.
- Price: Depending on where you purchase it, a bottle typically costs around 12,000 to 15,000 KRW.
- Varieties: Boksundoga offers a few different varieties, including the classic version, a premium aged version, and a seasonal edition with different flavors.
- Popularity: Boksundoga Makgeolli has gained significant popularity in Korea for its premium quality and unique taste. It’s often featured in media and enjoyed by both locals and tourists.
4. Ggang-Doe-Hoo (깡돼후)

Sometimes it’s hard for me to admit that I’m not really a coleslaw person, but it’s true. However, even for me, the coleslaw at Ggangdoehoo was a special treat! Try dipping the fried pork in the coleslaw – if you like coleslaw, you’ll absolutely love it!

Special Note: Personal Disrecommendation
1) Busan Cider
Despite its pretty packaging and the fact that it’s marketed as a unique Sprite available only in Busan, I personally do not recommend it. The taste is quite unusual and hard to describe…Although it was launched in 2022, it hasn’t gained much popularity on Instagram or elsewhere, and there’s a reason for that…I guess…
